How to apply

1. Fill in the application form which you will find at www.haenyt.fi, an electronic joint application system maintained by the Finnish National Board of Education. The form is in Finnish. If you need any guidance, please contact Lyseo’s IB Coordinator Ms Kaija Kiràly, tel. +358 40 341 4710, kaija.kiraly(at)jao.fi.

The school code is 1653 and the IB section code is 809. Submit filled form to the General Application Office. In Finland, the application period for upper secondary education is in the spring, mainly in March or April, every year.

2. Fill in the IB Application Form and send it to Jyväskylän Lyseo Upper Secondary School, IB Diploma Programme, P.O BOX 472, FI-40101 Jyväskylä.

3. All applicants are invited to an Entrance Examination which consists of two sections: written tests and an interview. The students will get a maximum of 10 points from the entrance examination and up to 10 points from the comprehensive school grade point average. The final selection of students into the IB programme is made by the school. If an applicant lives abroad, the tests can be organized in his/her own country.

The entrance examination will be held for all applicants. The invitation letter will be send to all first choice applicants only. The entrance examination will take place on the 20th of April 2016 at Jyväskylän Lyseo upper secondary school. The entrance test will consist of two sections: written tests ( in Mathematics, Thinking Skills and English) and a group discussion. The students will get a maximum of 10 points from the entrance examination and up to 10 points from the comprehensive school grade point average.
