The Jyväskylä Educational Consortium consists of the following units: Jyväskylä Institute of Adult Education, Jyväskylä College, Jämsä College, Jyväskylä General Upper Secondary Schools and Jyväskylä Apprenticeship Training Centre.
The Jyväskylä Educational Consortium offer both young and adult
students general education and training including vocational as well as
academic upper secondary school studies. Our goal is to provide our
graduates with the skills and competences needed to succeed in the
increasingly international labour market.
All tuition is given in Finnish. Thus, a foreigner interested in upper secondary studies (general and/or vocational) has to have a fairly good command of Finnish language. Jyväskylä Upper Secondary School for Adults and Jyväskylä General Upper Secondary School offer education for immigrants who want to improve their skills in Finnish and other languages or gain the Finnish comprehensive school certificate.
Studies promote entrepreneurial mindset
Entrepreneurship is one of the central strategic focuses of the Jyväskylä Educational Consortium.
According to the Bridge 2016+ strategy, the basic mission of the Jyväskylä Educational Consortium includes the provision of skills and abilities to meet the continuously changing requirements of the world of work, to maintain competencies, and to create an entrepreneurial mindset.
N.B. All tuition regarding the entrepreneurship studies at Jyväskylä Educational Consortium will be run in Finnish and, thus, a good command of Finnish language is needed. Read more in Entrepreneurship Studies.
Internationality as a part of the studies
International exchange periods are offered both to the students and members of our staff. The programs are mainly funded by our own resources as well as by the European Union funding sources, such as Erasmus+. We welcome foreign students from both our vocational and general upper secondary school partners for work placement or study periods in our region. Read more in International Activities.
